2018 Flu Symptoms Treatment, the Natural Way this Flu Season

2018 Flu Symptoms: The top tips for lessening flu symptoms and ways to naturally treat them before Halloween is here.

Remedies for flu symptoms and the common cold

After a couple days of listening to my oldest cough and cough, it was time to do something about it. After all having a sick child is no fun especially having the 2018 flu symptoms. I brought him into the clinic and adjusted him. It is a very simple thing to do and not many people know why to take our child to the chiropractor when they’re feeling ill. It is especially important to reprioritize ourselves and our family’s health as the weather starts to change. Here are my top tips for staying healthy and fly through this “flu season.”

1. Get adjustments

It has been shown that chiropractic care can increase the function of polymorphonuclear neutrophils and monocytes which are important for our immune system to destroy infectious agents among other benefits for mental health. Adjustments to the spine release a hormone called serotonin. Serotonin promotes a sense of well-being and happiness, all of which come in handy during the long winter months. Chiropractic got its start for the flu epidemic of 1918. It is just as important 100 years later for 2018 flu symptoms.

2. Get outside, even if it’s cold

Another reason people start to develop 2018 flu symptoms is our vitamin D levels take a serious hit during the cold months and it has been shown that vitamin D plays a vital role tour body’s ability to fight cancer among other illnesses. It may also be wise to supplement with a quality vitamin D3.

3. Probiotics

It has been estimated that 70-80% of your immune system is in your gut. It is one of the most complex ecosystems in the world. Getting a good mix of probiotics can help improve the environment of your digestive tract and reduce 2018 flu symptoms. It can also help you absorb vitamins and minerals more efficiently and ultimately keep you healthier.

4. Sleep and Arise with the sun

This may be one of the hardest to abide by. Seriously, why does it get dark at 6 pm?! When the clocks are set back, it can interrupt sleep patterns, increase your risk of heart attack and increase usage of artificial light. Try and get to bed as the sun goes down and wake up as it arises to maintain your circadian rhythm which is essential to your health and reducing 2018 flu symptoms.

5. Limit Sugar

An obvious one but very important! Halloween starts the downward spiral of the winter months. First, there is limited sun exposure, next comes copious amounts of sugar intake, and top it all off with interrupted sleep patterns and you’ve got yourself a breeding ground for sickness and the 2018 flu symptoms.

6. Fast

The benefits of intermittent fasting have been a hot topic as of recently. If you’re infected with a bacterial caused illness your appetite may decrease. This allows the bacteria to be starved and limits its energy source, glucose. If you’re infected with a viral illness, your body may increase appetite so that you can have the energy to rid yourself of the disease process. Listen to your body. Your appetite decreases when you’re sick so your body can clean house and eliminate cellular debris. Fasting uses up your body’s storage of immediate energy (glucose) and puts your body into a state called ketosis. This is where your body produces another form of energy called ketones.

One particular ketone, beta-hydroxybutyrate, was observed to benefit the immune system. Researchers at the Yale School of Medicine observed that exposing human immune cells to BHB in amounts you’d expect to find in the body following 2 days of fasting resulted in a reduced inflammatory response and recycling of damaged immune cells, allowing for the regeneration of healthy ones.

Follow these simple guidelines and it will help you blast through the “flu season” and stave off the 2018 flu symptoms. If you need to make your appointment you can do so here.
